T is budget seating range, ideal for everyday use with integral lumbar support. Utilising an independent mechanism adjustments can be made to seat and back heights and recline positions. Additional options included fixed D arms or adjustable arms, simply choose from a comfortable height adjustable fabric back or a mesh back.
Q is for those who seek further comfort. Q is ideal for a variety of needs, options include fabric or mesh back (with adjustable lumbar support), seat slide, chrome base, adjustable and folding arms; all Q task operator chairs come with a synchronised mechanism for easy adjustments.
Both Q&T are made with a Class 4 gas lift and will bear weights of up to 22kg. For Fabric seating options there's a moulded seat foam.

Why is quality important to Tangent?
Quality is critical to satisfying our customers and retaining their loyalty and confidence. Quality products make an important contribution to long-term revenue and profitability, and we have built a reputation for quality by gaining accreditation ISO 9001, a recognised quality standard published by the International Organisation for Standardisation. We are proud to say this year we would have held this certification for 25 years.
How does Tangent manage Quality Control for all its products?
We employ a Quality Manager who is responsible for ensuring that the quality processes and procedures of ISO 9001 put in place are upheld by all members of staff. The Quality Manager will monitor and measure data in order to implement constructive changes and drive forward continual improvement at Tangent; and this is important as we are always be looking for new ways to improve. We develop a working environment which recognises and rewards the contribution of employees for upholding quality within the business and encourages their personal involvement and development, as each member of staff receives thorough quality training applicable to their area of work.
What methods ensure such high standards?
Each department have specifically tailored training, processes and procedures designed to mitigate risk and safeguard the quality of our products. Each member of staff is regularly subjected to quality audits in order to ensure that any applicable quality checks, inspections and analysis are meticulously completed, whilst Tangent as a whole is independently audited by a third party against the requirements of ISO 9001 on an annual basis.
When choosing suppliers we ensure that they are comprehensively audited before becoming what we call an "approved supplier". We need to know that any supplier we use can meet the standard we set for ourselves and our customers.
What certifications /standards does Tangent work to?
Quality-wise, it is solely ISO 9001. Other certifications we have include ISO 14001 (Environmental equivalent of 9001), FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council, ensuring that our board comes from sustainable/ responsible sources) and FISP (The Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme).
What assurances are included when a customer orders products form Tangent?
Our customers can be assured that all items that they receive have been subjected to rigorous quality processes implemented to give them the best possible product. Because of this, we are confident to offer 5 or 10 years (Desking) of warranty on our products.

John is returning to Tangent after almost 10-years as CEO at Bisley Office Furniture. He brings to the role extensive leadership experience, with an impressive track record in strategic business development, supported by over 25 years of industry knowledge. A successful MD during the 1990s, John left Project Office to become part of the Chalgrove team in 1994. Under his stewardship of 12-years, the company saw rapid business expansion resulting in an annual turnover of £27 million.
John’s return to Tangent coincides with the company’s continued development, which has seen progressive expansion through organic sales growth and acquisitions. As we embark upon the next stage, John’s strategic know-how and industry insight will add to Tangent’s commitment to supplying innovative, high quality products at competitive prices, and providing excellent customer service and sale support.

Reuben’s Retreat was founded in 2012 following the tragic passing of Reuben Graham, aged just 23 months, due to a rare brain tumor. His mother, Nicola vowed to help others and created Reuben’s Retreat in her son’s memory, to help support families with children who have life limiting or terminal illnesses. Reuben’s Retreat will open its first phase, The Lodge, in October and The Gallery Clerkenwell’s partners generously provided furniture for the offices.
